At last a (60) years era of glories and victories passed since the birth date of Al Nasr Sports Club – Dubai.

The vision of Dubai government has been successfully confirmed and implied behind each victory of Al Nasr Sports Club has earned.

It is - The vision of Dubai government - based on how to direct the youth energies toward a useful field which is the sports.

Under the patronage of Their Highnesses (Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum and his son Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum) and the entire Dubai Government’s support, Al Nasr Sports Club became one of the most famous and popular clubs in the region and in the globe. Al Nasr Sports Club has a large number of fans around the globe, and this because of it’s rapid and matchless achievements and victories.

The Important Historical Periods of the Club since the Establishment.
  • In 1945 the players gathered in the house of Mohammed Ali Zanel in an area called Al Ghubaiba (Almur Bin Haraias, Atiq Bin Ahmed Almirri, Aqil Mohammed Saleh, Mohammed Saeed Al Mulla, Thni Bin Essa, Majid Bin Khalfan, Mohammed Abdulrahman Khansahib, Abdul Wahab GallaDari).
  • In 1948 a decision was made to establish a club which will have rules and regulations for membership with contributions from its members, companies, donations and selling footballs. They were wearing Jerseys with both red and white stripes.
  • Newer players joined the club and they were considered as the establishers of the club and their names are (Abdul Rahman Al Rustmani, Mohammed Abdullah Al Sarukh, Bin Oqal, Abdul Wahad Al Rustmani, Jumma Al Farad, Mirza Abdullah, Mohammed Saeed Alghaith, Salem Bin Touq), The club was named Al Ahli Club. The Royal British Airlines R.A.F. wanted to play against people of Dubai, when they new that they play football, that’s why the club was named Al Ahli Club. The R.A.F team played the 1st match against Al Ahli, Al Ahli lost 8-0 and since then the British army supported the club with footballs and jerseys in order to continue playing till they become a good rivals and the club was located in Dubai where currently the Central Bank is located.
  • Matches were continued with the British Army and there were other teams from the petroleum companies in Jabel Ali and few teams from the British Navy who were the visitors to Dubai and the British consulate was arranging the matches for the British Navy.
  • In 1951, H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum (God Bless His Soul) ordered to rent two rooms in one of the old coffee shops near fish market and the two rooms were used as a living area and placed to read, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hasher and Ahmad Bin Sulayem were playing for the team at that time. After that the players moved to H.H. Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum house in Al Shandaga area, where he gave the team a living area and few rooms, in order to be a building for the club. In the mid fifties, the players moved to the house of Abdul Qadir in Al Ghibaiba area.
  • In the fifties, Mr. Humaid Mattar Al Tayer, Humaid Bin Dari, Jumma Jafar, Mahmood Ustadi, Ghulam Ali, Abdul Rahim Nabi and Ismail German (who was one of the best players in Dubai) joined the club.
  • In the late fifties new group of players joined the club under the leadership of Sheikh Manea’ Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum who was a player in the team and with him Saeed Saif, Saeed Bu Jasaim, Ibrahim Jumma, Shikh Marwan Bin Maktoum, Yousaf Habib, Ateq Thani, Karama, Abdul Kareem Mubarak, Rashid Bu Jasaim and Hamad Bati Almasoud.
    The players thought of changing the club name into Al Nasr, in order to forget the worst defeat against the British Navy, and Ibrahim Jumma the player of Al Nsar Club suggested naming the club “Al Nasr” After he came back from Qatar in 1960. In fact he inspired the name from a Qatari team called (Al Nasr), which was doing very well in winning championships.
  • The 1st match they played with the new name was against Al Nasoor team (The Eagles from Deira). Al Nasr won the game by 12-0. After that Al Nasoor team decided not play any more, and they gave their blue Jerseys to Al Nasr club.
  • In late 1960, they players moved to a newer building which was a big house in Al Shandaga area, owned by Ateq Bin Almiri.
  • After that H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum ordered to give the club a piece of land near the Dry Dock and to be surrounded by fence.
    The club invited H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan (May God Bless His Soul) to honor him with a ceremony. H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan donated 60,000 Dhs in order to build the club, and he also gave them a Land Rover car as a gift to the Club.
  • H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (The Minister of Finance and Industry) became the president of Al Nasr Club.
  • In 1969, more players joined the club from the Al Hilal Al Bahri team with very good talent such as Salem Bu Shnain, Abdallah Hareb, Ali Khamis and Sultan Hareb.
    In the seventies, more players joined the club such as, Ali Abdul Hamid, Mohammed Kahoor, Abdullah Ali, Mohammed Alqouz, Ahmaed Khorshied, Owad Mubarak, Rajab Abdul Rahman, Ghanem Mubarak, Khamis Salem, Jamil Ahmad, Mustafa Qasem, Khalid Obaid, Ismail Pele, Obaid Abdul Karim, Abdul Qadir Altamimi and Ahmed Hareb.
  • In 1975, the club issued a monthly magazine called Al Nasr
  • In 1978 H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum opened Al Maktoum Stadium.
Championships & Achievements:
  • Al Nasr used to participate and win many of the local championships since the first UAE Football Federation in Dubai on the sixteenths in spite of the existence of many clubs on that time such as Al Wahda, Al Shabab and Al Najah club.
  • Al Nasr Club won/earned many cups such as Baladya Cup, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cup, Mohammad Al Moosa Cup, Mr. Kasim Baloosh Cups and Khadim Bu Umaim Cup in that time.
Al Nasr Sports Club Famous Football Players/Captains:
Al Nasr Sports Club graduated a lot of famous football stars such as Mr. Ismail Jerman – The first captain of the 1st division football team - and he was a football player and a football coach in the same time, Mr. Saeed Bu Jsaim, Mr. Saeed Saif. On the late of the sixteenths Mr. Abdull Kareem Mubarak carried the task of the leadership of his team. On the middle of the seventieths to the early of the eighteenths Mr. Ahmad Korshid, Mr. Salem Bu Shenin and Rajab Abdull Rahman leaded their team. On the late of the eighteenths Mr. Abdull Kareem Khammas, Mr. Salah Jalal, Mr. Ali Mal Allah and Mr. Abdull Rahman Mohammad leaded their teams successfully.

External Camps and International Teams Played Against Al NASR:
Starting from the mid sixties, the 1st team of Al Nasr Club was used to have their camps in the Arab countries in order to play against their clubs. The 1st visit for Al Nasr outside Dubai was to Lebanon; Al Nasr also visited Egypt in the years 1971, 1972 and 1983.

In 1976 Al Nasr team visited Sudan, Syria and Jordan and played many friendly matches against the clubs of these countries and in 1980 Al Nasr club visited Sudan again and all the GCC countries to play against their clubs.

From the mid seventies Al Nasr were having their camps in Europe in order to prepare for the season and they have visited England, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Yugoslavia and Germany.

Al Nasr Club invited many famous international clubs who came and played against Al Nasr and the top of these teams, the Brazilian team Santos with the leadership of World Star Player Pele. Al Nasr also played against Liverpool, Yugoslavian team Road Star, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Southampton and from Scotland they played with Saltek and Rangers, and from West Germany Eintracht Frankfurt and the Brazilian team San Paulo and also famous Arabic teams.

Al Nasr played against the youth team of Egypt in a big ceremony on the Al Maktoum stadium ground and they supported Egypt with the income of the tickets which reached an amount of 2 million Dhs.

The Sports Medical Clinic:
Al Nasr club was the first club in the Middle East to establish a sports medical unit for treatment of players under the supervision of specialist doctors since in 1976. The clinic was established by the Dr. Mustafa Obaid. Since then, the unit was developing from year to year, and now it is equipped with the most advanced medical equipments and a staff of physiotherapist and massagers and in case the players require more advance treatment, the players are sent to England and Germany for medication. The medical unit helped a lot of GCC players and Arab Countries players as well.

Al Nasr Sports Club’s Promising Investments:
On the early of the seventieth, Al Maktoum Stadium - in Al Nasr Sports Club – was the first and the largest football stadium in the Middle East and H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan indoor hall was the first integrated and fully equipped sports hall in Dubai. Al Nasr Sports Club management is still planning to develop the facilities of the club, by developing unique integrated covered Olympic swimming pool with it’s equipments and it’s facilities/premises such as Jacuzzi, Health Clinic, big Gymnasium hall, Sauna bath, a large chain of international restaurants and long lobby/reception desk and much more. Al Nasr Sports Club management is planning to establish/to construct a huge Football Academy in Al Nasr Club which it will include 3 football fields, a large hotel, Fitness club, Gymnasium Hall and sauna baths.
This project - Al Nasr Sports Club Football Academy – aims to provide the entire society a great extended soccer services and facilities which will be assigned for the publics and it will exceed Al Nasr Club current location to be spread out over the emirates of Dubai.

The Financial Statement of Al Nasr Sports Club:
The current financial statement of Al Nasr Sports Club is so solid and based on multi income resources policy depending on many existing fixed assets such as Al Nasr Club Accommodation Plaza complex and many other leisure and entertainment projects with very large investments size.
