Start of Final Stage of Football Competition in Furjan 3
As part of the third edition of the Residential Districts Championship (Furjan 3), the football super competition for the first category (Under 23 Years Old Category) has been launched with competitive matches.
The super competition – to be concluded by the end of this month – is joined by the Areas’ champions; these are: Fantazia team (the champion of Al-Quoz area) / Al-Shaabiya Stars team (the champion of Al-Safa area) / Al-Satwa team (the champion of Jumeira area) / Hamdan Area team (the champion of A-Qusais) / Metro Al-Manama (the champion of Al-Hamriya area) / Sharjah team (the champion of Al-Jafiliya) / Bu Sultan team (the champion of Al-Rashidiya area) / Al-Musala team (the champion of Hatta).
The Championship is organized by Dubai Sports Council via a group of youth from Dubai districts and held under the patronage of Emirates Driving Institute – “Under title Fair Game & Safe Driving”.
According to the Championship's regulations, the qualifying teams have been classified into two groups; the first group (Deira Group) is joined by Al-Hamriya champion / Al-Qusais champion / Al-Rashidiya champion / Hatta champion, whereas the second group (Bur Dubai Group) is joined by Al-Jafiliya champion / Jumeira champion / Al-Quoz champion / Al-Safa champion.
It is to be mentioned the first & second teams of each group will qualify to the semi-final stage – to be played via knock out system, which means that the two winning teams of the semi-final will qualify to the final match.
As part of Deira Group's matches, which take place at Al-Hamriya Park, Al-Hamriya champion defeated Al-Qusais champion 6-3. Hussain Gholum from Al-Hamriya team presented a distinctive performance and therefore he was selected as the best player of the match. Al-Rashidiya champion defeated Hatta team 6-5 in a very competitive match. Khalifa Ibrahim from Al-Rashidiya team was rewarded as the best player of the match.
As part of Bur Dubai Group's matches, which take place at Al-Jafiliya Park, Al-Jafiliya champion defeated Jumeira champion 9-5. Hashim Saqer from Al-Jafiliya team was rewarded as the best player of the match.
Al-Safa champion attained a great victory over Al-Quoz champion 12-2. Ammar Mansour from Al-Safa team was rewarded as the best player of the match.
